Recent news spotlights an extraordinary project: "Europa Jagellonica 1386/1572: Art and Culture in Central Europe of the Jagiellon Dynasty" a project put together by the:
- Galerie Středočeského kraje v Kutné Hoře (GASK),
- Das Haus der Brandenburgisch-Preußischen Geschichte in Potsdam (HBPG),
- The National Museum in Warsaw (MNW),
- The Royal Castle in (ZKW) and
- Des Geisteswissenschaftliches Zentrum Geschichte und Kultur Ostmitteleuropas of University of Leipzig (GWZO).
The over 1 milion euro program includes three exhibitions, which will be held in Kutna Hora (May-September 2012), Warsaw (October 2012 - January 2013) and Potsdam (March-June 2013). Each exhibtion venue will feature a different aspect of the project's theme. In Kutna Hora, the focus will be on aspects of urban culture and its elites, in Warsaw the dominant topic will be that of court culture, and in Potsdam the attention will be on the Jagiellonian's marriage policy. The project, in its entirety, aims to present these issues in the broad context of European culture of the 15th can 16th centuries.
